Our Forget Me (K)not Micro Envelope Purse comes in handwoven Pink fabric sourced from Antep region in Turkey. This 9,5cm x 9,5cm little envelope purse buttons up with the traditional ancient Chinese five loop knot.
Knots were used as a means of communication and recording events and information before written language was used. As a recent discovery shows bone tools that were used for tying and untying of knots that are believed to be at least 100,000 years-old. It is also believed that the shape of a knot would describe the nature of the recorded event, while the size of the knot would signify the importance of the event.
